All's Love Yet All's Law

Published: Sun, 02/02/14

From a spiritual perspective, the early 20th
century was a vigorous time for the New Thought
movement, which began prior to the turn of the
century by people like Thomas Troward and
Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I cannot tell you how many amazing books were
printed during this time that I love.

One of these books, "All's Love Yet All's Law,"
was written by Dr. James Logan Gordon. Its title
was based on these famous lines by the poet,
Robert Browning:

"I have gone the whole round of creation
I report as a man may of God's work
All's love, yet all's law."

Dr. Gordon was a pastor, a Doctor of Divinity, at
the First Congregational Church in the downtown
district of San Francisco at Post and Mason streets.

It was considered "the most popular church in the city,"
with as many as 7,000 people attending services during
the week. To the extent he was a proponent of the
New Thought movement I can't say, but certainly some
of his writings appeared to fall into that category.

Published in 1914, this book was his most successful,
and in it he wrote about various spiritual laws such
as The Law of Truth, The Law of Vibration, and The
Law of Sincerity.

He also wrote about what he called, The Law of
Inspiration, which, as you know, is a subject near
and dear to my heart.

(In fact, so much so, that I just released an audio
program with Nightingale-Conant - "The Zero Point:
How to Enter the Realm of Limitless Possibilities,"
and discuss this topic in length.)

In all, Dr. Gordon named 15 laws, and said, "The key
to every realm is the law that governs it."

I think we would have liked each other a lot, and that
he would have liked to have known about The Law of Zero,
which I talk about in my new audio program.

He would have immediately understood that, just as he
suggested, the Law of Zero governs the realm of Zero,
the realm of limitless possibilities.

Of course, the book's title gives away his final law
in the last chapter where he wrote -

"Love is the law of life."

I can't argue with that.

If anything, I would say that the entire language of the
universe is love. Not some sort of dependent love, but
unconditional love where everything is accepted as being
at the right place at the right time, where you're at
peace with the world, with reality, with what is.

The Zero Point.

Certainly, there's a great deal of trust and faith
involved in this, and this comes from the understanding
that what really moves us is love.

So how do you enter this realm?

It's simple.

Just follow the law that governs it.
