Sliding Door Moments

how something would turn out - whether that
particular path, if you pursued it, would
become pleasurable or painful?
What if you knew when it was a "sliding door" moment?
If you remember, "Sliding Doors" was a romantic
drama/comedy where the main character (played
by Gwyneth Paltrow) misses a train by a few
seconds, and from that point on the story
revolves around two parallel universes.
We get to see her life when she misses
the train, and if she hadn't.
Of course, in real life we don't get the benefit
of that kind of foresight. We don't tend to
recognize sliding door moments or the insignificant
things that, later, turn out to be very significant.
Fortunately, we don't have to if we listen to
Lori Anderson, who recently spoke at my Attract
Money Now Live event in Austin.
Lori, author of "Divorce with Grace", guides people
through the transition of divorce and facilitates
them in creating an amazing new beginning for their
life.
Don't let the title mislead you, though...
Her 5-step G.R.A.C.E. process empowers people to
transcend remnants of victimhood or bitterness in
*any* area of their life. You don't have to be going
through a divorce to embrace these principles.
At the event, Lori shared the idea of "turning your
mess into your message and your pain into profit,"
by connecting your pain with your passion.
There is a "nexus point," she said, "where the two
meet - a place where new ideas get created and
something new and beautiful emerges."
I like this idea. I think it takes the heat off
worrying about those "sliding door" moments that
you have no way of determining in advance anyway.
You can trust things are going to work out for the
best -- one way or the other.
They do.
Once you know this, it frees you to create more
spontaneously, and to follow the inspirations and
nudges you receive from the Divine.
I can't think of a more critical factor to your
success, health, and wealth than this - even when
it feels scary.
For example, when I got the idea to write a sequel
to "Zero Limits," another voice showed up that said,
"Well, how will that ever match the bestselling,
stellar status of the first book?"
I wrestled with that a little bit until I realized,
"Well, I don't have to match it. All I have to do
is write the book to the best of my ability and get
it out there."
And that's what I did.
Actually, I wrote "At Zero: The Final Secret to Zero
Limits" AND also recorded a new Nightingale-Conant
audio program, "The Zero Point: How to Enter the Realm
of Limitless Possibilities."
See what I mean?
You never know where the Divine will lead you, but the
more you can have faith and trust in the process, the
better and faster you get at moving forward.
You just never know...
In those "sliding door" moments, a few minutes might
make all the difference in the world.
